TVK Chief Vijay Urges Caution, Blames Drainage Failures for Rain Havoc in Tamil Nadu

Chennai | Dec,3, 2025 — Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay on Friday urged people to remain cautious amid heavy rains lashing parts of Tamil Nadu, while strongly blaming poor and outdated drainage systems for the widespread urban flooding. Reacting to waterlogging in several low-lying areas, Vijay said the situation once again exposed long-standing civic negligence.

He stressed that temporary measures will not solve recurring monsoon disasters and called for permanent, scientific upgrades to stormwater drainage infrastructure. Vijay also appealed to the government to ensure speedy relief, uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, and quick compensation for affected families. His remarks have added political heat to the rain crisis as public anger grows over repeated flood-related disruptions.
