Top Naxal Leader Hidma Killed 12 Days Before Amit Shah’s Deadline

Sukma, Chhattisgarh | November 18, 2025:
Top Maoist commander Madvi Hidma, one of the most wanted Naxal leaders, was reportedly killed in a major anti-Naxal operation in Sukma district. The encounter comes just 12 days before Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s announced deadline to eliminate Naxal presence from the region. Hidma was accused of masterminding several deadly attacks on security forces over the years.

Security officials described the operation as a significant breakthrough that could weaken the Maoist stronghold in central India. Forces have intensified combing operations in the area to track remaining cadres, while political leaders hailed the development as a major step toward ending decades of Left-Wing Extremism in the region.
