Prashant Kishor Concedes Poll Defeat, Takes ‘Maun Upvas’ as Act of Accountability

New Delhi, November 18, 2025:
Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has taken full responsibility for his party’s dismal performance in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, admitting that he “couldn’t win people’s faith.” In his first public remarks since the results, he accepted 100% accountability for the outcome, signaling a moment of deep reflection.

As a gesture of self-introspection and redemption, Kishor announced that he will observe a day-long maun upvas (vow of silence) on November 20 at the Gandhi Vidarbha Ashram. He described the fast as a symbolic act of penance and a way to reset his political compulsions.
