PM Modi Flags Off Year-Long Celebrations Marking 150 Years of “Vande Mataram”

New Delhi, November 7:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the year-long commemoration of 150 years of the iconic patriotic song “Vande Mataram” on Thursday, highlighting its historic role in India’s freedom movement. The launch event celebrated the legacy of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s poem, which has inspired generations with its spirit of nationalism and cultural pride. The inaugural ceremony featured cultural performances, tributes, and the unveiling of initiatives planned throughout the year.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi emphasised the significance of “Vande Mataram” as more than just a song, calling it a symbol of unity and India’s collective identity.
