Bhopal, December 2, 2025 — Several welfare boards in Madhya Pradesh have come under sharp criticism after it was revealed that they remained virtually inactive for nearly two years, yet continued to enjoy government-funded perks and benefits. Despite having no significant meetings, projects, or welfare output, members reportedly received salaries, allowances, and official privileges during the period.
The revelation has triggered political uproar and questions over accountability and misuse of public funds. Opposition leaders have demanded a high-level audit and strict action against those responsible, while the state government has assured a review of board functioning and expenditure to prevent such lapses in the future.
