Kochi, November 20, 2025:
The Kerala High Court strongly criticized the state administration for poor management at Sabarimala, noting that the mismanagement had caused severe inconvenience and safety concerns for thousands of pilgrims. The court observed that long queues, crowd congestion, and lack of basic facilities had created avoidable chaos during the ongoing Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.
In its remarks, the bench directed authorities to take immediate corrective measures, including better crowd control, improved sanitation, and enhanced coordination between departments. The court also stressed that Sabarimala, being one of the most revered pilgrimage centers, must uphold a high standard of safety, dignity, and organization for devotees.
