
New Delhi, November 27, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday unveiled Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-I launch vehicle, marking a major milestone in India’s growing private space sector. The rocket, developed by the Hyderabad-based startup, is designed to carry small satellites into Low Earth Orbit and is seen as a breakthrough step for commercial space missions from India.
The Prime Minister praised young scientists and entrepreneurs for strengthening India’s position in the global space economy, calling Vikram-I a symbol of “innovation, self-reliance and futuristic vision.” The project aligns with India’s push toward space-sector reforms and private participation, opening new opportunities for satellite launches at competitive global prices.
