Gupt Navratri Begins with Devotees Observing Fasts and Special Prayers

The nine-day Gupt Navratri festival commenced across the country on Monday, with devotees offering special prayers dedicated to Goddess Durga. Unlike the more public Navratri celebrations, Gupt Navratri focuses on spiritual discipline, meditation and esoteric practices.

Temples witnessed early morning rituals, while many devotees began fasting and performing sacred observances at home. Religious scholars said the festival symbolises inner strength, devotion and spiritual awakening.
