The Andhra Pradesh government has intensified its efforts to promote horticulture crop development across the Rayalaseema region, aiming to improve farmers’ income and strengthen the agri-economy. With a growing emphasis on crops like mango, banana, sweet lime, vegetables, and floriculture, the state is planning new schemes and infrastructure support to increase productivity and long-term sustainability.
Officials are also focusing on expanding drip irrigation, cold storage facilities, and market linkages to ensure farmers get better prices for their produce. Training programmes, modern farming techniques, and subsidy-backed initiatives are being rolled out to help farmers adapt to advanced horticulture practices, marking a significant step toward transforming Rayalaseema into a major horticulture hub.
