The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) has officially backed Vantara, India’s flagship wildlife rescue and conservation project, calling it a lawful and world-class hub for wildlife protection. The international endorsement is seen as a major boost to India’s conservation credibility, confirming that Vantara’s operations comply with all global wildlife protection protocols and ethical standards.
Located in Jamnagar, Vantara has been positioned as a large-scale rescue, rehabilitation and conservation centre for endangered and distressed animals. Officials said the CITES support strengthens India’s role in global biodiversity protection while countering misinformation around wildlife handling. The endorsement is expected to open new doors for international collaboration in wildlife research, rehabilitation and conservation technology.
