Port Blair, December 1, 2025 — All flight operations to and from Port Blair were cancelled on Monday as Cyclone Ditwah intensified over the Bay of Bengal, prompting authorities to suspend air services in the interest of passenger safety. Strong winds, heavy rainfall, and poor visibility disrupted normal operations, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded.
The local administration has issued high alerts across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with disaster response teams placed on standby. Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea, while residents in low-lying coastal areas are being closely monitored as precautionary measures continue.
