Modi stressed that India’s young population is its greatest strength, urging youth to channel their energy and creativity toward innovation, entrepreneurship and social service.

In his address, Modi drew inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s teachings on courage, self-confidence and commitment to collective welfare. The nine-day Gupt Navratri festival commenced across the country on Monday, with devotees offering special prayers dedicated to Goddess Durga. Unlike the more public Navratri celebrations, Gupt Navratri focuses on spiritual discipline, meditation and esoteric practices.

Temples witnessed early morning rituals, while many devotees began fasting and performing sacred observances at home. Religious scholars said the festival symbolises inner strength, devotion and spiritual awakening.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has imposed a ₹22.2 crore fine on IndiGo Airlines for repeated violations related to flight delays, crew duty-time limits and passenger inconvenience. The regulator also directed the airline to submit a ₹50 crore bank guarantee, warning that stricter action may follow if compliance lapses continue.

Aviation officials said the move underscores the regulator’s zero-tolerance approach towards safety and operational discipline. IndiGo has been asked to strengthen internal oversight mechanisms and ensure adherence to aviation norms, especially during peak travel periods.

Indian Railways has announced an ambitious plan to renew nearly 7,900 kilometres of railway tracks during the next financial year as part of its safety and infrastructure upgradation programme.
