Ashok Gehlot Asserts Mahagathbandhan Fully United Ahead of Bihar Assembly Elections

Patna, October 23, 2025 — Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot asserted that the opposition alliance Mahagathbandhan in Bihar is “fully united” ahead of a crucial press conference. Speaking after meeting with Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav in Patna, Gehlot emphasized that the alliance is contesting the upcoming state elections with full strength and confidence. He stated that any confusion regarding seat-sharing or leadership would be clarified at the joint press event scheduled for Thursday. Gehlot’s visit comes amid efforts by the Congress to ensure cohesion among alliance partners and finalize the strategy for the Bihar Assembly elections.

Gehlot also addressed reports of “friendly fights” within the alliance over certain constituencies, saying such internal contests were “normal” and did not reflect disunity. He reiterated that the Mahagathbandhan remains committed to presenting a strong and united alternative to the ruling bloc in the state. Emphasizing the importance of collective leadership and coordination, Gehlot expressed confidence that the alliance would perform strongly in the upcoming polls and deliver governance that meets the aspirations of the people of Bihar.
