
Vijayawada, December 2, 2025 — Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav has announced that the state is aiming to achieve an AIDS-free status by 2030, highlighting major progress in recent years. Speaking at a public health event, the minister said that new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths have significantly declined, thanks to improved screening, awareness campaigns, and timely medical intervention.
The state currently provides free antiretroviral therapy (ART) through multiple government centres and also extends financial assistance to HIV-positive patients. Officials said special focus is being given to preventing mother-to-child transmission and strengthening rural healthcare systems. The government expressed confidence that with continued public cooperation and medical support, Andhra Pradesh can meet its ambitious 2030 goal.
