Vijayawada, December 2, 2025 — Andhra Pradesh has topped all southern states in the implementation of e-KYC verification under the MGNREGS scheme, recording the lowest job-card deactivation rate in the region. State officials said the verification process was carried out in a worker-friendly manner, ensuring that genuine beneficiaries were protected while duplicate and inactive records were removed efficiently.
The government also clarified that workers whose job cards were deactivated due to technical reasons can re-register easily and get reinstated within a short time. In addition, thousands of new job cards were issued over the past year, indicating continued support for rural employment. The successful implementation is being seen as a major step towards transparency and improved welfare delivery in Andhra Pradesh.
