Air India Delhi–Bengaluru Flight Diverted to Bhopal After Mid-Air Smoke Alert Triggers Emergency

Bhopal, November 4, 2025: An Air India flight operating from New Delhi to Bengaluru made an emergency landing at Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal on Tuesday after a smoke alert was detected in the cargo hold. The flight crew immediately informed the Air Traffic Control and initiated emergency procedures as a precautionary measure. Emergency services, including fire and medical teams, were deployed on standby to ensure passenger safety upon landing.

Following the safe landing, all passengers were immediately escorted out of the aircraft as safety protocols were carried out. Airport authorities confirmed that a technical inspection was underway to determine the source of the smoke alert. While there were no injuries reported, Air India arranged an alternate aircraft and assistance for passengers to continue their journey to Bengaluru. Authorities stated that passenger safety remained the top priority and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
