Former Bureaucrat Raj Kumar Goyal Sworn In as Chief Information Commissioner

Former bureaucrat Raj Kumar Goyal was sworn in as the Chief Information Commissioner on Monday. The oath of office was administered at a formal ceremony attended by senior officials, marking a key appointment in the country’s transparency and information framework.

Goyal, a retired senior civil servant, brings decades of administrative experience to the post. Officials said his appointment is expected to strengthen the functioning of the Central Information Commission, which plays a crucial role in ensuring accountability and effective implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act across government departments.
