Chandigarh | December 4, 2025 — The Shiromani Akali Dal on Wednesday filed an urgent complaint alleging a police conspiracy to block its political programme, accusing the administration of acting under political pressure. Party leaders claimed that permissions were deliberately delayed or denied to prevent them from carrying out planned public activities.
The Akali Dal alleged that such actions amount to a direct attack on democratic rights and freedom of expression. The party has demanded immediate intervention and accountability from senior authorities, warning that continued suppression of opposition voices could lead to widespread protests. The police, meanwhile, are yet to issue an official response to the allegations.
