
Bengaluru, December 1, 2025 — Air Marshal Yalla Umesh on Monday formally assumed charge as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Air Force’s Maintenance Command. The appointment comes at a crucial time as the IAF continues to strengthen its technical preparedness, fleet availability, and indigenisation efforts.
With vast experience in aircraft maintenance, logistics, and operational planning, Air Marshal Umesh is expected to play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and readiness of the Air Force’s maintenance systems. Senior defence officials expressed confidence that his leadership will further boost operational capability and mission readiness.
