Delhi’s Green Push Gets Fresh Momentum as Union Environment Minister Reviews NCR Greening Strategy

New Delhi, November 27, 2025: Union Environment Minister today chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress and future roadmap of the greening strategy for the Delhi-NCR region, with a focus on combating air pollution and enhancing urban green cover. Officials presented updates on large-scale plantation drives, park rejuvenation projects, and roadside afforestation initiatives aimed at improving overall air quality.

During the review, the minister stressed the need for faster execution, better monitoring, and public participation to ensure visible impact on the ground. Special emphasis was laid on using native plant species, restoring degraded forest patches, and integrating green infrastructure into urban planning to make Delhi-NCR more climate-resilient and pollution-resistant.
