Amaravati, November 27, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the formation of three new districts — Polavaram, Markapuram and Madanapalle — taking the total number of districts in the state to 29. The decision aims to strengthen administrative efficiency and improve governance at the local level.
The move is expected to bring government services closer to people in interior regions, reduce workload on existing districts and speed up development activities. Preparations for the new administrative setup are expected to begin soon.
