A major rescue operation is underway in Uttarakhand after a bus carrying several passengers skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Tehri district on Friday. Local authorities, SDRF teams, and police personnel rushed to the site immediately and are currently working in challenging terrain to evacuate the injured and retrieve those trapped.
Officials said the exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed, but multiple passengers have been shifted to nearby hospitals. The steep landscape and narrow roads are making rescue work difficult, but additional forces and equipment have been deployed. The administration has urged residents to avoid the route as emergency teams continue their efforts.
