15 Held After Pepper Spray Attack on Delhi Police During Anti-Pollution Protest

New Delhi, November 24, 2025

Delhi Police arrested 15 protesters after they allegedly used pepper spray on on-duty officers during an agitation against rising air pollution levels in the capital. The incident occurred when a group of activists attempted to break police barricades near Patel Chowk, leading to a sudden escalation and minor injuries to several personnel.

Authorities stated that the act was “deliberate and dangerous,” stressing that lawful protest cannot include violence or harm to public servants. The detained individuals have been booked under multiple IPC sections, and investigations are underway to identify others involved, even as environmental groups continue to demand urgent action on the city’s deteriorating air quality.
