Indian Army Marks Major Milestones in Indigenisation, Cuts Dependence on Imports

New Delhi | November 21, 2025

The Indian Army has achieved significant milestones in its ongoing indigenisation drive, greatly reducing its reliance on foreign military imports. With increased adoption of domestically developed weapons, equipment, and advanced technologies, the Army is strengthening self-reliance under the national Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

According to defence sources, several critical systems—from infantry gear to high-end battlefield platforms—are now being sourced from Indian manufacturers. This shift not only enhances operational readiness but also boosts India’s defence industrial ecosystem, creating long-term strategic and economic advantages.
