Doha, December 1, 2025 — McLaren team principal has openly admitted that a strategic misjudgment played a major role in the team’s underwhelming result at the Qatar Grand Prix. Acknowledging the unpredictable nature of Formula 1 races, he said the team made a call based on expected rival moves that ultimately did not work in their favour.
He further explained that in modern racing, strategy often depends on split-second decisions and incomplete information. “You never truly know what others will do,” he said, adding that the team will closely review the race to avoid repeating such errors in future championship battles.
