Taipei, Taiwan, Nov 5: Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense reported detecting two Chinese military aircraft and seven naval vessels operating around the island’s air and sea space. The aircraft were tracked crossing into Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), prompting the Taiwanese military to deploy combat patrol aircraft, naval ships, and air defense missile systems to monitor the situation. The incident marks yet another instance of China’s increased military activity near Taiwan, heightening regional tensions.
Officials stated that such frequent manoeuvres pose a threat to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Taiwan continues to strengthen surveillance and defensive readiness amid rising pressure from Beijing, which claims the island as its territory. The government reiterated its commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty, urging China to respect regional peace and avoid provocative actions that could escalate conflict.
