Kolkata/Patna, Nov 1st, 2025 – Political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor has reportedly asked election authorities to delete his name from the West Bengal voter list after a controversy broke out over him being registered as a voter in two states. His name was found listed in both West Bengal and Bihar’s Kargahar Assembly constituency, triggering a political row.
The Election Commission has issued a notice to Kishor, seeking clarification on how he ended up with dual voter registration, which is prohibited under election laws. He has requested immediate removal of his name from the Bengal list to avoid any violation, even as political parties in both states are using the issue to launch attacks on each other ahead of the upcoming polls.
