
New Delhi, December 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday held a high-level meeting to finalise appointments for the Central Information Commission (CIC) and the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The discussion focused on identifying suitable candidates to ensure transparency and efficiency in these key institutions.
Officials said the meeting aimed to reach a consensus on appointments that will strengthen governance and oversight mechanisms. The CIC and CVC play a crucial role in promoting accountability and integrity across government departments, and timely appointments are expected to enhance the functioning of these statutory bodies.
