New Delhi, November 1, 2025: A leading environmental expert has raised concerns over the excessive use of plastic containers, stating that most of them are effectively “single-use” due to limited recycling systems and contamination issues. The expert highlighted that although many plastic products are labelled reusable, they often end up in landfills or oceans after just one use, contributing significantly to pollution and microplastic contamination.
The expert suggested five eco-friendly packaging alternatives that can replace single-use plastic, including biodegradable plant-based packaging, recycled paper containers, glass jars, metal tins, and bamboo-based products. These sustainable options, according to the expert, can drastically reduce environmental harm and support a circular economy if adopted widely by consumers and brands.
