Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay on Monday launched a sharp attack on the DMK, accusing the ruling party of misleading the public. Addressing supporters, Vijay said that people should not believe the promises made by the DMK, alleging that the party’s only agenda is to “cheat the people” for political gain.

He further claimed that the people of Tamil Nadu are now looking for a genuine alternative that works for their welfare and development. Vijay asserted that TVK would continue to raise public issues and fight against corruption and false governance. His remarks come amid intensifying political activity in the state ahead of the upcoming elections.

Karnataka Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of being the “most corrupt, anti-farmer, anti-woman, and anti-poor” party in the country. Speaking to reporters, Reddy alleged that the policies of the BJP-led government have severely affected farmers, women, and economically weaker sections of society.

He further stated that the opposition parties would continue to expose what he described as the failures and corruption of the BJP at both the state and national levels. His remarks come amid escalating political tensions ahead of upcoming elections, with leaders from all major parties exchanging strong statements.

Thiruvananthapuram, December 9, 2025:
Kerala Health Minister on Monday accused the United Democratic Front (UDF) of following an anti-women policy in connection with the recent controversy involving an actor. Addressing the media, the Minister alleged that the opposition was attempting to politicise the sensitive issue instead of standing firmly with women’s safety and justice.

The Minister further stated that the state government remains committed to protecting the rights and dignity of women and will not tolerate any form of injustice. The remarks have triggered a fresh political debate in the state, with the UDF expected to respond to the allegations in the coming days.

Thiruvananthapuram, December 9, 2025:
CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas on Monday cast his vote in the ongoing local body elections and said that Kerala is firmly on the path of development. Speaking to the media after voting, Brittas expressed confidence in the state government’s development initiatives and said that people are actively participating in the democratic process with great enthusiasm.

He further stated that the polling process was proceeding peacefully and credited the Election Commission and security forces for ensuring smooth conduct of elections. Brittas added that local self-governments play a crucial role in grassroots development and hoped that the elections would further strengthen democratic governance in the state.

Hyderabad, December 9, 2025:
The State Election Commission on Monday stated that a “peaceful polling process” is underway in seven districts where local body and municipal elections are being held. Polling began smoothly in the early hours with voters turning up steadily at various polling stations. Adequate security arrangements have been deployed to ensure free and fair elections across all constituencies.

Election officials confirmed that police personnel, polling staff, and observers have been stationed in large numbers to prevent any untoward incidents. The Commission added that the entire polling process is being closely monitored through control rooms at both district and state levels to ensure transparency and smooth conduct of elections.
