
Chandigarh, Nov 5: A young kabaddi player was shot dead in a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across the sporting community in Punjab and neighbouring regions. The attack took place in broad daylight, with unidentified assailants opening fire at the player during a local practice session. Panic spread among onlookers as the assailants fled the scene, leaving the victim critically injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.
Soon after the incident, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility through a social media post, alleging motives linked to personal rivalry and control over local sports circles. Police have launched a massive investigation to trace the attackers and verify the gang’s claim. Security has been intensified in the region, with authorities vowing strict action to curb gang-related violence and ensure the safety of athletes and youth involved in sports activities.
