New Delhi, November 7:
The Delhi High Court has directed the police to fast-track their decision regarding security arrangements for former Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) President Raunak Khatri, following serious allegations of extortion threats made against him. The court emphasised the urgency of the matter and asked authorities to assess the risk and provide adequate protection if required. Khatri had approached the court citing repeated threats to his safety.
Police officials have been asked to submit their findings and take necessary preventive measures without delay. The court highlighted the responsibility of law enforcement to act promptly in cases involving potential harm, especially when public figures and student leaders are targeted. The directive aims to ensure Khatri’s safety while investigations into the source of the threats are underway.
