Nuapada, Odisha, Nov 10 — The Election Commission has put in place extensive arrangements for the Nuapada Assembly bypoll, with authorities treating the election as a prestige battle for major political parties in the state. Additional polling personnel, micro-observers, and flying squads have been deployed to ensure a smooth and transparent voting process, while sensitive and critical booths have been identified for heightened monitoring.

To maintain law and order, multiple security layers including central forces and state police have been stationed across the constituency. Web-casting, GPS-fitted vehicles, and strict vigilance on campaign expenses are also part of the EC’s strategy to prevent any malpractice. Voters have expressed hope that the robust arrangements will encourage higher turnout and a peaceful polling day.

New Delhi, Nov 10 — Amid growing public pressure to tackle hazardous air pollution levels in the capital, Delhi’s Environment Minister stated that the government is “working to mitigate the poison left behind by the previous AAP administration.” He claimed that longstanding lapses in pollution control, waste management, and environmental planning had worsened the city’s air quality crisis, and assured that corrective steps are now being prioritised.

The Minister outlined measures being taken, including stricter enforcement against industrial and vehicular emissions, expansion of green cover, and accelerating clean energy and public transport initiatives. He added that coordination with neighbouring states is being strengthened to curb stubble burning impacts. Residents have urged immediate and impactful action as air quality continues to remain in the ‘severe’ category across multiple zones in Delhi.
