Mumbai Tops Housing Market in 2025, Registers Second-Highest Office Leasing Activity

    Mumbai, January 10:
Mumbai emerged as the leading residential property market in India in 2025, recording the highest sales volume among major cities, industry data released on Saturday showed. According to real estate analysts, strong demand from homebuyers, improved affordability, and investor interest in stable assets contributed to robust housing sales in the country’s financial capital. The residential segment’s momentum was supported by new launches, competitive pricing, and a trend toward larger, value-oriented projects that appealed to end users and long-term investors alike.

In the commercial real estate space, Mumbai also stood out by posting the second-highest office leasing activity in India during 2025, behind only Bengaluru. Office take-ups were driven by demand from technology, financial services and co-working firms seeking premium space in key micro markets such as Lower Parel, Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Andheri. Analysts said the combined performance in both residential and office segments highlights Mumbai’s enduring appeal as a hub for real estate investment and corporate expansion, reflecting confidence in its economic fundamentals and workforce availability.

  • Prabhas’ The Raja Saab Set for Major Changes After Poor Reviews

Prabhas’ The Raja Saab Set for Major Changes After Poor Reviews

    Hyderabad, January 10:
Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab is set to undergo significant changes following poor reviews and mixed feedback from audiences after its release. Sources close to the production said the makers have decided to rework key portions of the film, particularly focusing on tightening the screenplay and improving the overall narrative flow. While Prabhas’ performance and certain action sequences received appreciation, critics and viewers pointed out issues related to pacing, weak character arcs, and uneven storytelling.

According to industry insiders, the team is considering re-editing several scenes and may even opt for limited reshoots to address audience concerns. The aim is to enhance emotional depth and clarity without altering the film’s core storyline. Such post-release modifications are relatively rare in Indian cinema, but the makers believe the revised version could help the film connect better with viewers and improve its box office performance in the coming weeks.

Europe’s Burning Streets, India’s Quiet Lesson

    New Delhi, January 10:
Several European cities have witnessed widespread protests and street unrest in recent weeks, triggered by a mix of economic stress, immigration tensions, and public anger over government policies. Images of burning vehicles, clashes between demonstrators and police, and large-scale disruptions to daily life have highlighted growing social fractures across parts of the continent. Analysts say rising living costs and perceived governance failures have intensified public dissatisfaction, pushing protests beyond peaceful demonstrations into episodes of violence in some regions.

In contrast, India’s approach to managing diversity and dissent offers a quieter but notable lesson. Despite its vast population and complex social fabric, India has largely relied on democratic processes, dialogue, and institutional mechanisms to address grievances. Observers point out that while challenges remain, India’s emphasis on electoral accountability and community engagement has helped prevent widespread urban unrest of the kind seen in parts of Europe. The contrast underscores the importance of inclusive governance and responsive policymaking in maintaining social stability amid global uncertainty.

Supreme Court Rulings Loom as Trump’s Tariff Authority Faces Fresh Legal Scrutiny

    Washington, January 10:
The U.S. Supreme Court is poised to issue key rulings in a high-stakes legal battle over former President Donald Trump’s sweeping global tariffs, which have been challenged as exceeding executive authority under a 1977 national emergency law. The case — consolidated under Learning Resources v. Trump — tests whether the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) actually gives the president the power to impose wide-ranging import duties without explicit congressional approval, a question that could reshape U.S. trade policy and presidential powers. Justices have expressed significant scepticism about the legal basis for the tariffs during hearings, and a decision is expected soon that could determine the future of tens of billions of dollars in tariff revenue and claims for refunds by global importers.

Lower courts have already questioned Trump’s use of emergency powers for tariff imposition, with a federal appeals court ruling that many of the tariffs were unlawful and that such authority lies with Congress. That ruling was stayed pending appeal, allowing the tariffs to remain in effect as the matter progressed to the Supreme Court, which may deliver its judgment as early as January 14, 2026. If the court strikes down the emergency-based tariffs, the U.S. government could face substantial refund obligations, potentially in the range of $150 billion or more to companies and importers who paid duties under the disputed measures, and create uncertainty in global markets responding to potential legal and economic fallout.

Dropped Catches, Under-Par Score: MI Coach Slams Performance After WPL 2026 Opener Loss To RCB

    Mumbai, January 10:
Mumbai Indians coach delivered a blunt assessment of his team’s performance following their loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, pointing to dropped catches and an under-par total as key reasons for the defeat. The coach said crucial lapses in the field allowed RCB to stay in the contest, while the batting unit failed to capitalise on promising starts, leaving the bowlers with too little to defend.

Highlighting the fine margins in T20 cricket, the MI coach stressed that such mistakes prove costly at the highest level and need immediate correction. He added that while it was only the first match of the season, the team must improve execution in both departments going forward, asserting that sharper fielding and more intent with the bat will be essential for MI to bounce back strongly in the remaining fixtures.
