No Helmet, No Petrol’ Rule To Be Implemented In Visakhapatnam From January 1

Visakhapatnam, December 30:
In a major road safety initiative, authorities in Visakhapatnam announced that a ‘No Helmet, No Petrol’ rule will come into force from January 1, 2026. Under this policy, two-wheeler riders not wearing helmets may be denied fuel at petrol stations. The measure aims to reduce road accident fatalities, particularly among motorcycle riders, who account for a significant share of traffic-related deaths in the city.

Officials said the decision was taken after reviewing accident data and safety compliance levels. Awareness campaigns will be conducted in the initial phase, followed by strict enforcement. Traffic police and fuel station operators will work in coordination to implement the rule smoothly. Authorities believe the initiative will significantly improve helmet usage and save lives in the long run.
