India’s upcoming New Labour Code is expected to significantly transform the employment landscape by making hiring and firing more flexible, according to TeamLease CFO Rituparna Chakraborty. She explained that the streamlined rules will reduce compliance burdens on companies, allowing them to adjust workforce strength based on business needs without navigating lengthy procedures. The new framework aims to encourage job creation by giving employers the confidence to scale operations efficiently.
However, the shift also raises concerns about worker protections and job security. Experts stress the need for a balanced approach that safeguards employees’ rights while promoting economic growth.
