The Karnataka government is considering handing over the investigation into the recent Hubballi incident to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), state Home Minister said on Friday. Addressing the media, the Home Minister stated that the situation is being closely monitored and that a CID probe is being examined to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident, which had raised concerns over law and order in the region.
He added that maintaining peace and public safety remains the government’s top priority and assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible once the investigation establishes facts. Senior officials have been directed to submit detailed reports, based on which a final decision on the CID probe will be taken. Political observers note that the move comes amid demands from various quarters for a high-level inquiry, with the incident drawing significant political attention across the state.
