New Delhi, December 20:
India’s telecom sector has witnessed a historic expansion in 2025, according to government officials and industry experts. The growth is attributed to rising smartphone adoption, increased internet penetration, and accelerated deployment of 5G networks across urban and rural areas.
Officials said subscriber numbers reached record highs, with broadband and mobile data usage surging significantly. Investments in infrastructure, spectrum allocation, and innovative service offerings have contributed to the robust growth of the sector.
Industry analysts highlighted that competitive pricing, government initiatives such as Digital India, and the expansion of digital services have further strengthened telecom growth. They noted that the sector’s performance positions India as a global leader in mobile connectivity and digital communications.
Authorities added that continued investment in network modernisation and expansion will be critical to sustaining this growth trajectory and supporting the country’s broader economic and technological goals.
