New Delhi, November 18, 2025:
IIT Delhi has partnered with the Eastern Regional Load Despatch Centre (ERLDC) to develop an AI-enabled smart device aimed at improving demand-side energy management across households and commercial spaces. The project focuses on using artificial intelligence to monitor, predict, and regulate electricity consumption in real time, helping consumers cut energy costs and reduce wastage.
Researchers say the device will offer automated load control, appliance-level monitoring, and intelligent forecasting to balance demand efficiently. The collaboration is expected to support India’s larger goal of building a smarter and more sustainable power ecosystem, especially as the nation moves toward increased renewable energy integration.
