Delhi Minister Ashish Sood has urged political parties and media not to politicise the recent stone-pelting incident at Turkman Gate, which disrupted local peace and raised concerns among residents. Speaking to reporters, Sood emphasised that the matter should be treated as a law-and-order issue, with authorities taking swift action against those responsible, rather than being used for political point-scoring ahead of upcoming elections.
The minister highlighted that the Delhi Police is actively investigating the incident and has deployed additional forces in the area to prevent further unrest. Sood appealed to community leaders and citizens to cooperate with law enforcement and maintain harmony, warning that spreading rumours or assigning political motives could exacerbate tensions. Observers noted that such statements aim to reassure the public while discouraging any attempt to inflame communal or political sentiments around the incident.
