Lucknow, January 10:
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday alleged that a “conspiracy is underway to remove PDA votes”, raising serious questions over the fairness of the electoral process. Addressing party workers and the media, Yadav claimed that voters belonging to the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) sections were being deliberately targeted through administrative measures, which, he alleged, could impact democratic participation. He demanded transparency and accountability from election authorities, stressing that the right to vote must be protected at all costs.
The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister further accused the ruling dispensation of attempting to manipulate the voter base for political advantage, asserting that such actions undermine the foundations of democracy. He called upon the Election Commission to take immediate steps to ensure free and fair elections, warning that any attempt to disenfranchise sections of society would be strongly opposed. Political analysts note that Yadav’s remarks come amid heightened political activity and growing scrutiny of voter lists, with opposition parties increasingly vocal about safeguarding electoral integrity.
