Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi emphasized the remarkable evolution of India’s maritime strength, referring to the force as a “Builders’ Navy” during his address in New Delhi on Friday. He highlighted the Navy’s rapid progress in indigenous shipbuilding, cutting-edge technology adoption, and strategic modernization—key drivers shaping India into a formidable maritime power.
General Dwivedi noted that India’s commitment to self-reliance has significantly strengthened naval preparedness, enabling the country to confidently protect its vast coastline and maritime interests. He stressed that ongoing collaborations between the armed forces, scientists, and domestic industries are accelerating India’s journey toward a future-ready, innovation-driven naval force.
