Raipur, November 7, 2025: A female Maoist operative carrying a bounty of ₹17 lakh surrendered before the Chhattisgarh Police, marking a significant breakthrough in the state’s anti-Naxal operations. The woman, identified as a key member of the Maoist outfit active across the Chhattisgarh–Madhya Pradesh–Maharashtra belt, reportedly laid down arms after being influenced by the government’s rehabilitation policies and growing pressure from intensified security operations. Authorities confirmed she was involved in multiple Maoist activities and had been on the police radar for several years.
Police officials stated that the surrender reflects a growing shift among Maoist cadres who are choosing to abandon the path of violence and return to the mainstream. The surrendered cadre is expected to be provided assistance under the state’s rehabilitation scheme to help rebuild her life. The development is seen as a morale booster for security forces and a major setback for Maoist networks operating in the region.
