The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has recognised Andhra Pradesh as a role model state for its consistent and effective efforts in energy conservation and efficiency, officials said on Monday. The recognition comes in view of the state’s successful implementation of energy-saving policies across industrial, residential and public sectors.

According to officials, Andhra Pradesh has adopted large-scale use of LED lighting, promoted energy-efficient appliances and encouraged renewable energy generation, particularly solar and wind power. Awareness campaigns conducted across urban and rural areas have also contributed to behavioural change among consumers.

Energy department officials said the state’s initiatives align with national climate goals and sustainable development targets. Experts noted that Andhra Pradesh’s performance could serve as a benchmark for other states aiming to reduce energy consumption while maintaining economic growth.

NASA on Saturday released stunning images of comet 3I/ATLAS as it made a close flyby past Earth. The comet, travelling at high speed through the solar system, provided astronomers with a rare opportunity to study its composition and trajectory in detail.

The International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Delhi, is set to establish a satellite centre at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone in Visakhapatnam, marking a significant boost to healthcare education and research.

The centre will focus on industry-oriented programs, skill development, and research in medical technology and healthcare management. Officials said the initiative will strengthen the MedTech ecosystem and support innovation in the healthcare sector.
