The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) has announced an extension of the application deadline for 8,477 Group C and D vacancies. The move is aimed at providing candidates additional time to complete their applications and ensure wider participation in the recruitment process.

Officials from WBCSSC urged aspirants to take advantage of the extension and submit their forms before the revised deadline. The vacancies cover multiple posts across the state, and the commission emphasized that all applicants must adhere to the eligibility criteria and submission guidelines to be considered for selection.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the registration of the Board School Games Welfare Society for the unauthorised use of its name. According to official sources, the society was found to be using the CBSE name without obtaining proper approval, which led to concerns about misleading schools, students, and parents.

CBSE has clarified that the society is not affiliated with the Board in any official capacity and has advised schools to remain cautious while associating with private organisations using the CBSE name. The Board further stated that strict action will be taken against any entity found misusing its name or logo in future, in order to protect the interests of students and maintain transparency.
