BJP’s Shahzad Poonawalla Labels Opponent As Leader of Propaganda, Paryatan, Palayan

New Delhi, December 23:
BJP leader Shahzad Poonawalla on Tuesday launched a sharp critique against political opponents, describing one as the “leader of propaganda, paryatan (tourism), and palayan (migration/flight)”. Poonawalla alleged that the opposition has consistently focused on misleading narratives rather than addressing developmental and governance issues.

Speaking to reporters, he claimed that such tactics undermine public trust in political processes and divert attention from key policy initiatives and national priorities. He stressed the need for political discourse to focus on substantive governance, citizen welfare, and accountability rather than sensationalism.

Political analysts noted that Poonawalla’s remarks are part of a growing trend of vociferous rhetoric in Indian politics, aimed at shaping public perception and consolidating party support. They highlighted that labels like “paryatan” and “palayan” reflect pointed criticism of perceived failures in tourism promotion and population retention policies by the opposition.

BJP sources added that the party intends to continue emphasizing development-focused narratives, contrasting them with what they describe as opposition-led distractions, to strengthen public confidence in governance.
