Bengaluru, January 8:
Bengaluru has emerged as the best Indian city for women in 2025, according to a recent study that evaluated multiple parameters including safety, employment opportunities, education, healthcare access, and overall quality of life. The study highlighted the city’s strong presence in the IT and startup ecosystem, which has created diverse job opportunities for women across sectors. Improved public transport connectivity, increased participation of women in the workforce, and progressive workplace policies were also cited as key factors contributing to Bengaluru’s top ranking.
The report further noted that Bengaluru has made steady progress in areas such as women’s education, access to skill development programs, and availability of support systems like childcare facilities and women-focused safety initiatives. While challenges such as traffic congestion and cost of living remain, the city’s inclusive work culture and growing emphasis on gender equality helped it outperform other major Indian cities. Experts said the findings underline the need for sustained policy focus to build on these gains and replicate similar models in other urban centres across the country.
