Avoid Attacking Allies: Fadnavis Advises BJP To Maintain Restraint After Sena Victory

Mumbai, December 23:
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday advised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to exercise restraint and avoid attacking its allies, following the Shiv Sena’s recent electoral victory. Stressing the importance of coalition discipline, Fadnavis said maintaining unity within the alliance was crucial for stable governance and long-term political success.

Speaking to party leaders, Fadnavis underlined that electoral outcomes should not become a reason for friction among alliance partners. He noted that public disagreements or sharp criticism of allies could send the wrong message to voters and weaken the collective strength of the coalition. According to him, coordination and mutual respect are essential to ensure effective administration and smooth decision-making.

The senior BJP leader also highlighted that alliances are built on shared responsibility and trust, especially in a politically sensitive state like Maharashtra. He urged party workers and leaders to focus on governance, development, and fulfilling public expectations rather than engaging in avoidable political rhetoric.

Political observers said Fadnavis’ remarks reflect an effort to keep the ruling alliance intact amid evolving political equations after the Sena’s win. The message is being seen as a call for caution and strategic communication, aimed at preserving harmony within the alliance and projecting a united front before the public.
