Nepal Begins Nomination Filing Today for March 5 Elections

Kathmandu, January 20:
Nepal on Monday began the process of filing nominations for candidates contesting the upcoming elections scheduled to be held on March 5. Election Commission officials said nomination papers will be accepted at designated offices across the country in accordance with the election schedule, marking a key step in the lead-up to the polls.

Political parties and independent candidates are expected to submit their nominations during the allotted period, after which scrutiny and withdrawals will take place as per the electoral calendar. Authorities stated that security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and peaceful nomination process, while political activity is expected to intensify across Nepal in the coming days ahead of the elections.
