Chennai, January 20:
Tamil Nadu political leader T Velmurugan (TVK) on Monday criticised Governor R N Ravi, alleging that the Raj Bhavan is being used for political propaganda rather than fulfilling its constitutional role. Speaking to the media, TVK accused the Governor of acting in a manner that favours certain political interests, creating tension between the state government and the Raj Bhavan.
TVK urged that constitutional offices, including the Governor’s post, should remain neutral and above party politics to uphold democratic principles. The remarks came amid heightened scrutiny of the Governor’s recent actions in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, including walking out of a key session and controversies surrounding protocol, which have sparked debates over administrative propriety and political neutrality in the state.
